*Maintains the general ledger, accounts payable and fixed assets computerized accounting systems with the assistance of the Information Technology Department.
*Ensures proper procedures are used in utilizing the system and that system data and output is accurate.
*Designs reports in order to access information from the system; and is responsible for the timely interfacing of the payroll, accounts payable and general ledger systems.
*Prepares audit schedules and works with external auditors and departments during the annual audit to evaluate whether the spending of federal, state and local funds is done in compliance with governing regulations, statutes and other documents
*Coordinates with various staff and departments to prepare the District’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and review financial documents to obtain GFOA Certificate of Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting annually
*Prepares miscellaneous reports for other agencies.
